Adult Formation

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults

RCIA, or the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, is designed for adults who, after hearing the mystery of Christ proclaimed, consciously and freely seek the living God and enter the way of faith and conversion as the Holy Spirit opens their hearts. It is a spiritual journey of adults that varies according to God's grace, the free cooperation of the individuals, and the action of the Church. This journey includes periods of inquiry, time for maturing, and a process of moving from one level to the next.

The celebration of the sacraments of Christian initiation is normally arranged so that they are celebrated during the Easter Vigil, but the period of purification and enlightenments may be celebrated at a time other than the Easter Vigil or Easter Sunday as necessary. The journey to conversion is personal and can differ from person to person and season to season.

Anyone interested in learning about the Catholic Church, developing a deeper knowledge of the Catholic faith, or becoming Catholic is encouraged to inquire about RCIA.  Those who are currently practicing Catholics or Catholics who may have wandered from the Church and seek to return are encouraged to attend, as well. Please contact the parish office at 608-647-2621.
